Synopsis

The master by research offered by Department of Medical Laboratory Technology comprises minimum of 3 semesters with no taught course components. This programme provide students with opportunity to conduct an independent research in their selected area ranging from microbiology to parasitology. During the programme, students will embark on extensive laboratory work and also received formal training in research –related skills such as scientific writing and ethics in research. 

The programme is ideal and very significant for students who wants to proceed their career in Medical Laboratory research and also form a strong research foundation for PhD study in any university around the world. At the end of the programme, student will be expected to write a research thesis and defend their research in viva examination. Students also are encouraged to publish their work while in the programme.

Entry Requirement

• Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from UiTM in a related and appropriate area of specialization with minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR
• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from other recognized universities approved by UiTM with minimum CGPA of 2.75.
• A candidate applying for admission into this programme is required to submit a research proposal to the faculty. The acceptance of a candidate shall be at the discretion of the UiTM Senate, whose decision shall be final
