DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (MEDICINE) (MD990) RESEARCH

Synopsis


 

The MD780 and MD990 is a research based programme to produce highly qualified, dynamic and esteemed scientists who are able to contribute towards human advancement through discovery of new knowledge via cutting edge research. Research facilities are available in the Faculty of Medicine’s campus such as the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB), Centre for Translational Research and Epidemiology (CenTRE), Centre for Pathology Diagnostic & Research Laboratories (CPDRL) and Neuroscience Laboratory. The availability of the Laboratory Animal Care Unit (LACU) in the premise facilitates animal research. These facilities are equipped with the state of the art instruments. Research interests include reproductive embryology, human genome variation, adipokines, bone, bacterial diseases, atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases, glaucoma, natural products, oxidative stress, nanotechnology and many other groups.

 

Entry Requirement


  • Master’s Degree (in relevant fields) from UiTM or any Institution of Higher Learning recognized by the Government of Malaysia; OR
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (in a relevant field) with working experience in a related field recognized by the UiTM Senate
  • MUET minimum score of Band 3 OR IELTS/TOEFL minimum Band 6.0/550
