About Courses

The programme aims to strengthen the professional knowledge and competencies needed for middle and higher-level positions in various libraries and resources centres in both the public and corporate sectors, with an offering of courses that range from the traditional library management courses to the application of related technologies for the provision of information and services in the libraries and information centres.

Entry Requirements

  • Academic Qualification
    • Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in a relevant field of study from a university that is recognized by the University Senate and the Malaysian government.
  • English Language Proficiency
    • a TOEFL certificate with a score of at least
    • 550 for (paper based), or
    • 213 (computer based), or
    • 79-80 (IBT), or
    • an IELTS certificate with at least Band 6.0

 *Any other English language certificates other than TOEFL and IELTS are NOT accepted by the university.

 

Courses Offered

This programme requires students to complete a minimum of 40 credit hours. It is designed for two categories of students i.e., Track 1 (for students with Library Science/Information Studies background) and Track 2 (for students without Library Science/Information Studies background). Students are required to complete a minimum of 40 credit hours i.e. 34 credit hours (10 courses) from the CORE courses, and 6 credit hours (2 courses) from the ELECTIVE courses.
